What can you use to prevent or slow down graying hair?

Is there a vitamin, herb a person could use to slow down or prevent human hair from graying?

What can you use to prevent or slow down graying hair?

Books and research papers have been written on this subject for decades and have largely centred on the B Vitamins PABA, folic acid, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid and Inositol. PABA is particular has been touted as the anti-greying vitamin. Although I have a science background myself I think the evidence in favour of them as an anti-greying remedy is scanty. Although having said that there is no denying that these B vitamins along with some key amino acids are involved in the pigmentation process. So it wouldn't hurt to take a vitamin B complex tablet, and make sure you get enough protein in your diet.

I do think the greying process is largely down to genetics. But it is possible that stress and nutrient deficiencies might play a role in some individuals to trigger events, based on the evidence that greying has been produced where B Vitamin deficiencies have been induced under laboratory conditions. There may also be some anecdotal evidence that they work. But it is just that - anecdotal. Worth a try but don't get you hopes too high.

Head massage (champissage) is generally beneficial for the scalp for your hair health, why not also give that a try - unless you have diabetes, neuropathology, M, high blood pressure or other health conditions for which stimuation of blood flow could be contraindicated. Ask your doctor first if in doubt.

Best wishes.
