Do colored hair extensions fade over time?

I got these hot pink hair extensions glued in at the salon the other day. The guy had to dye them there with the human blonde hair that he already had. When i went to shampoo my hair two days later, i noticed that the water was pink!!!!! My colored extensions are still the same color, but I was wondering..will the water keep turning pink or will the color keep fading everyday ? Or is this just a one , two time thing. ? Thanks..

Since he had to dye the extensions, yes they will fade. If they were purchased pink... probably not. Before human hair its the market, its treated in a fashion that prevents color-fading.

Colors in the red category are notoriously fast faders. You can try refreshing the color with a semi permanent color. Jazzing, sold at most beauty supply stores, is the brand I have had the most success with when it comes to extensions. Apply the color to dry hair, section it off with foil so it doesn't touch anything else, and then apply heat for 10 minutes to get the hair to absorb it more.

All dyes fade and I am surprise that fake hair took on the color.

Yes they do fade. The time it will take to completely fade out really depends on the quality of die (hair color) that has been applied. However the water getting pink will stop after a few shampoos.

Everytime you was your hair it will keeping fading. I have red hair and that happens to me too.
