How do u stop cats from going potty in the neighbor's planter box?

My neighbor is a big gardner and he has a planter box right below his bedroom window. My cats use it as a bathroom and he can't sleep at night. He claims he has tried everything and something has to be done. NOTHING WORKS! We have bought products from the pet shop (sprays, powders, everything), We have used things from the kitchen (such as chili powder and cayen pepper), We have used human hair from the barber shop, and even rose thorns (which they just push aside to go). I have heard that coyote pee works but am not sure where to get it. I also think that if we got coyote pee it would defeat the purpose because I am sure it smell as much as cat pee. So please help!!!!

Well just take her outside just for a few minutes and bring her back in so she can poop in her litter box.

Put a fence around it or move the box.

They go in the planter box because the dirt is soft and they can easily bury their waste. Try designating an area in your own yard and turn the soil so it is soft.

Also, buy your neighbor a water pistol. Each time he or you see the cat at the box, squirt it with the water pistol. The cat will then learn to use the alternate spot.

Well as we know cats will do what they want even if it isnt righ in our eyes, but i think you could and i know this sounds mean but (i dont know if this will work have never had this problam cause we all ways trained our cats for the start) maybe trough some water on the cat everytime he's ready ready to do the business, cause if the cat isnt potty trianed chances are he doesnt like water ether(yes you actually make cats like water if you do it early enough) then the cat will get it cause cats think umm potty time equal bad water means noo! i dont know just a suggestion

add some cyanne pepper into the flower box, this will stop her when she digs and it gets on her paws, it will make her mouth hot when she licks herself..

I am a veterinary technician, we actually get lots of questions like this! Its not suprising that your cat is doing this, its actually a natural habit as someone stated earlier...what you could try is placing some moth balls or citrus peels in the box if your neighbors don't mind. These two things tend to be a deturent.

How about keeping your cats INSIDE? Not only will it solve this problem but your cats will live longer and not end up shredded by a wild animal, run over by a car, catching a disease, tortured by cruel kids, drinking antifreeze, etc, etc, etc. http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?ac...

If your cats are indoor only, problem solved. But I suspect that is not the answer you are seeking. If they are digging, marbles work. They are round, cannot be lifted out by the cat, and if they dig before they use it, they are defeated. Of course, if they just aim and shoot, that won't work.

I have posted two barrier types that might work, and also fit in with a garden.
