Has anyone used hair extensions?

is there a brand that you prefer? are they expensive? what is the difference between human hair and synthetic? is buying extensions at Sally's the same thing? are clip in or sewn in better? are they easy to wash and style?? sorry there are so many questions!!

Has anyone used hair extensions?

hey girlie.

okay your talking to the extension queen....lol

Thre brand i prefer is ultra silky...they come in lengths of 12', 14', and 16' inches...

you just pick the length your looking for to suit you.

the difference between human hair and synthetic is that with human you can straighten it, or culr it on style it with heat poducts and it cost a little bit more, but its worth it because if you wash them they tend to dry soemhwat wavy...and i just find it awkward so i prefer to have human hair so that i can straighten it and it wont melt.

a big decision factor in this is if you have curly or straight hair and how you style it...becuzz if you allways use heat products(hair dryers, straighteners curlers etc.) to do your hair then you must buy human hair becuzz with synthetic you wont be able to style your hair...unles you have clip ins then you atke them out.

i dont prefer sallys becuzz theyr more expensive and there not as good quality....find a little black person hair weave store or a wig store..they usually allways have extensions for buying and there suually cheaper..

clip ins are fun becuzz you dont have to sleep with them in (which can be very bulky and annoying feeling) and you can takle them out whenever and use them forever....

ive never done sewn in but i know it takes a very long amt of time...like hours...and that it doenst last as long and that it is very painful.

i prefer using the hair glue...

dont freak out i know it sounds scary but its really not....

its like a rubbery substance...which you can buy at sallys (you can ask them questions about it to) and it bonds to your hair..its very neat and fast drying and its water resistant....like mine stayed in for 2 months and i washed my ahir every other day....to get them out you just use bond remover and it dissolves the glue and the extensions fall out painlessly and you can reuse them and your hair is fine.

ask the peopel at sallys they should be able to give you info.

they arent hard to wash and style if you do the glue with real hair but they do take extra time...and when you wash them you cant bring them up on to your head liek your naturally do but you have to just run the shapoo on your fingers thru your extensions....they get tangled easy..

you should sleep with a wrap on your head if you do the sewn in or the glued in becuz it will help it to last longer and not pull it out when your sleeping....

extensions are very fun! and an easy way to ghave long hair fast! but they do take extra work.

hope i helped!

good luck gurlie!

i had glue in ones that were individual strands - you need to find someone to do them that knows what theyre doing or else they slip out. but i was in the sun to long with my hair in a high bun and the glue melted into my hair lol... i think just buying random extensions is trashy looking. get them proffesionally done if youre serious about em... they tend to be expensive though plus you pay for the labor. my sister in law did sew ins and loved em.. they lasted forever and just had to get them tightened when her hair grew

extensions are complicated to talk about in short sentence... research, ask around and ask beauticians!

hair extentions are nice but to much maintance.when u take them out ur hair goes try yellow dandruff and tangles. so its better to get the clip on ones go to ur nearest salon and ask them about the clip ons and they will till u which ones sutible for u. its better to pay more for the clip on hair extentions because u will always have them hair extentions cost heaps and dont last that long

I love my hair extensions. Price depends on what brand you get, just make sure that the texture and color of the extensions match your hair really well. I would suggest clip in extensions they only take a few minutes to put in each day. Go with human hair, you can do anything to it that you do with your own hair. I wash mine about once a week or every 2 weeks and then just let them air dry, and ya they are super easy to style, just like your own hair. When I got mine I got the extensions without wefts (the clip in piece) and sewed them to the wefts myself it was really easy. After I had all the pieces put in I went to a salon to have my hair cut into a style, and they look so natural, most people don't even know that I have them! Good luck!
