Considering extensions for the first time.?

I am considering extensions for the first time, for my upcoming wedding cruise and need some help. I only know what little bits I have read on the net the last two days.

I know for sure that I want human hair, and I am pretty sure that I don't want clip in ones.

What types would you suggest?

How long before the wedding should I have them done, so they will still look great, but I can be used to them?

Will someone who can't even stand a pony tail because it bugs me and gives me a headache even be able to wear them at all?

Will they work even for an up-do?

I am sure I will have a million more questions, but these are the ones I can think of at the moment lol.

Thanks so much for any help you can give!

Considering extensions for the first time.?

What types would you suggest? all the great lengths and so cap are 100% human hair and they are bonded in by keratin (what your hair is made of) bonds. they are costly, i do them both and they run anywhere from $1,000-$3,000 depending on where you live and the brand of the hair.

How long before the wedding should I have them done, so they will still look great, but I can be used to them? if done correctly, they can last up to 6 months. i would say about a month to get used to them.

Will someone who can't even stand a pony tail because it bugs me and gives me a headache even be able to wear them at all? you should consider the weight of them. the bonds are a little irratating and you shouldn't get them if you can't stand to have anything such as hair bows or pins in your head. they have to be brushed about 3 times a day.

Will they work even for an up-do?

they will do great with an up-do, but you need to have them in enough time to be able to practice with your stylist. you should find someone who is used to working with them. if not, they need to know that you cannot put heat on the bonds because they will fall out.

Considering extensions for the first time.?

Weft or Track Hair Extensions

A weft is a track of several inches long on which the hair is already attached (a curtain of hair attached together at the top and free flowing at the bottom). The extensions are then applied by using one row (track) at the time instead of strand by strand. A weft can be made by a machine or by hand. Handmade wefts are more flexible and flatter because they are generally custom made to suit your head and match your own hair. They can also be ordered in thin to thick density. Hand wefted hair can also be ordered without a custom sizing or color blending. The only problem with this is that the hair strips cannot be cut to fit.

Machine wefted hair can be obtained in low to high quality. It is extremely important to purchase top quality hair. If low quality hair is installed, there can be terrible tangling, matting and shedding. Machine wefted hair is easily obtainable, can be cut to customize width for any head size, and comes in many lengths and textures. Machine wefted hair, installed on a track is the quickest to install, and the most cost effective way to wear extensions.

Braided Track Extensions:

First a very small cornrow braid is created of your own hair and than the weft is sewn onto the braid. The number of tracks depends on what the client is looking for. Usually 3 rows is needed for maximum length and thickness. Someone just looking for bulk or thickness, not necessarily length, can wear just 1 row/track.

Braiding and weaving create some tension to your hair and scalp because the track is tight and therefore will pull some. The extensions should be braided firmly but comfortably. The scalp may be tender for a couple of days until the braid loosens slightly. Some clients complain about being uncomfortable and having a brief headache using this system, others have no complaints at all.

Micro-Bead Track Extensions:

Small micro-beads or clamps made of copper or aluminum are clamped to small hair strands creating a track. The wefted hair strips (hand-tied or machine wefted) are then sewn to the track. This method is somewhat flatter than the braiding method, and uses all of the clients own existing hair. This method is also very easy to maintain. Generally the micro-bead clamps can be loosened and the weft lifted and tightened without removing the entire track and re-doing it.

Strand by strand 鈥淏almain鈥?Hair Extensions:

With this method small strands of extension hair are attached one by one to small sections of your own hair using the heat fusing method with Keratin Protein waxes and polymers.

Strand by strand Cold Method: "Hairlocs"

This gentle attachment method does not involve glues, heat, or chemicals. Tiny metal tubes (micro-cylinders) are used to attach the strands with a special technique to your own hair. 鈥淗airloc鈥檚鈥?are easy to install and easy to remove by a certified expert. The tubes can be short or long, wide or narrow, depending on the amount of hair in each strand being attached. The cylinders are tightened to create the attachment. Applied in the correct way this is a strong and safe method that will not damage your own hair. This cold strand by strand method can be a lengthy process and requires several hours. The cylinders come in aluminum or copper, different sizes and colors but also in different qualities. This method can be used with the highest hair quality and with hair of a lesser quality, it depends on the salon. Top quality hair is always recommended for longer life and less tangling possibilities. Also, this hair can be re-used if cared for properly.

Clip-in hair Extensions

As the name already revealed, you can clip this extension into your own hair whenever you want it and take it out at night before you go to sleep. I can make custom clip-in extensions for a client who wants the option of wearing extensions, or not. Also, making clip-in from old hair that is not being installed again is a great way to keep using the hair you purchase.

"NXS" Tresses

The revolutionary and patent-pending Hair Complements System庐 and innovative application technique will create superior results for hair extension customers. Every tress is handmade with high quality standards using only 100% human hair. The Hair Complements System庐 is available now in 30 different vibrant colors, and unlike anything else in the hair extension industry today, our tresses can be colored to match more unique hair colors.

Considering extensions for the first time.?

.There are several types of extensions. There are weaves, clip in, glue ins, bonds, etc. Depending on what you do, depends on how well it is for you hair. The less you spend, the worse they are most likely for you. At my work, we do bonded extensions. They tend do last anywhere from 4-6 months. The brand is called Cinderella Hair (can come in 3 different textures and also in in curly and straight).

You can do this one of 2 ways. Leave the bond whole and they will last longer. Cut the bond in half, you cut its life span in half, but they look more natural. You will be better off getting your extensions 2-3 weeks prior to your wedding. You will feel slightly irritated for the first few days, especially sleeping. You want to give your self time to get use to them so you aren't uncomfortable on your wedding. And that way, if any fall out in the first few days (most likely always happens) you can get those spots replaces.

You CAN get updos with extensions. Make sure you get 100% human hair extensions so you can dry them, curl them, straighten them, etc. If you get the bonded extensions, it is recommended that you sleep with a pony tail in (sorry to tell you!). It prevents you from getting knotted and tangled while you sleep.

A good extension process will recommend a "take home kit" to give you the correct shampoos, conditioners, brushes, care sheet, etc. with it. You use a special brush, and certain products you want to stay away from.

The bonds you NEED to dry completely and you always keep product and heat (like flat irons, curlers, etc.) off of the bond. If you do not follow all of the procedures to good extensions, I am afraid you are going to waste your money. The extensions will ruin if you are not care full.

They are a lot of fun, just maintenance is all. I hope I helped you a little. Always make a consultation (should be complementary at a good salon) so you are comfortable with the stylist and its surroundings. Bonded extensions cost around $500 (and like I said should always come with a take home kit). Have a great evening at your wedding!
